Ive never really Kept myself to a strict plan before but cost, time and space limit my options in my new car.
System will be in 93 accord lx 2dr which is currently all factory

Im working with non existant budget sooo...
my thoughts are

Deck - would prefer mp3 capabilities of some sort - $150 used value

Current spots are 6.5" all around so im thinking either 6.5" in the front and 6x9's or 6.5's in the back or a 6.5" component set. I think I want coaxials as id like everything hidden from the elements and would like to just drop into existing slots.
under $100 a set.

Ive never really ran anything other then an amped set of components. So inputs as to what I should look at to run off of deck would be helpful. Normally I stick to a set of comps in the front and a sub in the back for my tastes in imaging but rear fill is needed for those in that back seat.

And 1 12" sub in the back, I have a nice sealed box i built a while back and an avionnixx 400.2 so 400-500rms (at 4 ohms). Im thinking shiva (never ever in stock), dayton audio, alpine type R ( i had 2 3 years agon whats the story on them now... or............ ideally like to keep it around $150

Feel free to pm me with stuff your selling that might fit the bill. AS well as opinions. Thanks

I would suggest using 6.5' all the way around. The Phoenix Gold Octane ZR component set is very nice, while very cheap (can be found for under 100$ at authorized dealers). Very nice silk dome tweeters, along with mids that give you very good bass (70RMS). Find a 12'' sub to fill in for the lows.

^^that sounds pretty good, the 12" Infinity ref 1230 can be purchased from future shop for $100.00 currently(pretty good for the price). $300.00 for two comp sets and a sub, with warranty and brand new, in Canada...that's not bad.

For a deck I'd check out the KW 4028 at about $200. All that stuff you wanted with 3 4v preouts. A nice clean face with large vol ****. The shop I visit often has sold a ton of these.

for those components how would the fair running off a deck? I really want to avoid rewiring, and the space/draw of another amp... My problem is I know what I would buy if I had the money and the time. I want to maxamize my bang for buck and have no interest in investing in something high end with bigger plans later (ill do that in a couple years in a different car). For instance I could get a great deal on JL xr's but only get high performance with them amped so theres no point.

What about octane R coaxials... opinions?

the pioneer DEH-3700MP isn't too bad probably get it for somewhere between 150-200, if you are just running off of deck power and want cheap theres always kenwood 6.5 speakers, they aren't bad I had some when I had no money (lol i still don't have any) and they were good, 30w rms just under 100 bucks. actually I still have that pair if you want them. I don't think you will find a type R new for around 150 bucks, probably get close with a type S though probably 170 plus tax, something like that and they are good subs, they have the rating of the older type r's now. 300rms
Just my 2 cents

well I was thinking used prices. Pending a sale on the forum I think I have a deck lined up Alpine 9827. The search is on for efficient components / coaxials. I dont see the need to buy new stuff so all prices would be for used.

Sounds like you've made up your mind about the deck; but here's an e-tailer link to that kw. 4028
