Building Dream System Need Some Advice

i had a good friend of mine tell me about his dream system and ever sence then I have wanted to hear this marvel in person but never happened for him. so I have a new car and some money and I want to hear this... but before I go dropping all this money I want to be sure im on the right path and that it is a marvel and not just some bs someone sold me on..

he told me he was going to take three 15" subwoofers and wire them together to make them run at 1ohm and get a 1 ohm compatible amp and that, that setup is the best setup for performance and sound quality...
is this true and would it be wired parallel or the other way?
and I wanted to do it with 2 15's and I wanted to try and push 1000 to 1200 watts rms per speaker. do you think that would be a great setup and do u think I could evan fit the enclosure for two 15's in the trunk of a 2001 Pontiac grand am se 4dr? but a box I can remove if need not built into the trunk permanently.

any and all advice is appreciated thank you

It seems your just after output, why not just take 4 15's and do a b-pillar wall instead of trying to shove 2 15's in a tiny *** trunk.

I thought my advice was in line with your 2 15's and 2400rms dream system but I guess I hurt your feelings. Seriously though a single 15" in a 4 cubic feet net ported enclosure should be what your looking for. What is your budget for amp and sub?
