You can't have it both ways... either be friendly to the newbs or to the hardcore... you can't please both.

I can have it both ways. I want Yuli to compete and the rest of the pros but I also want to amateurs. The Amateurs mostly use their own music cds and the pros are use to using their test tones for burps. The Amateurs will continue to compete in C.S.P.L and I will offer DB Drag for the more advanced guys. Check out the results from last sundays show. The top 10 guys were doing above 146 db and the other 23 were quieter. Those other 23 would have done better in C.S.P.L and everyone would have been happy.

can you imagine an amp running at 0.25 ohm playing music? or even at it's rated load i would imagine alot of fuse poppping would be happening. people will cry and not come back

Imagine that, building a system to play music instead of a one note wonder. I personally like it. A bit of a challenge to find the right tunes and so on. And not everyone has a termlab at home to figure out the vehicle and system sweet spot. So I think it brings it to a more level playing field.
Rich what i was tryin to say is from my point of view forcing everyone to play music is not a good idea unless you are trying to make noobs stay noobs forever. for those guys who are noobs and dont really care about db drag it doesnt matter if they play tones or music. but for the guys who are using CSPL as a stepping stone towards something bigger it would kinda put a dent in the learning curve as they would not have the opportunity to work and compete with tones like db drag, iasca and pretty much everything else out there.
thats just what i think. im looking forward to seein your db drag and cspl ideal take off and cspl getting more exposure.

your saying you need to use music, but say you had a song with a constant note in it, could you just burp the song?
personally this is my first year competeing and im running 2500~ rms at .5 ohms and running my speakers for an extended period of time at high volumes will smoke them.
i havnt even heard of cspl until just recently and i thought it would be somthign i would try, but if the cost is intentionally destroying my system, i think ill stick with DB Drag.

All your ideas are welcome. When I am posting some possible rules I do read everyones suggestions. I am just trying to make it fun for the 145db and less crowd. From last years shows I have about 80 new competitors and I think only 5 to 10 of them were competitive enough to enter DB Drag events. Most of them could not afford to go out and buy four amps for their two 10's and so on. I just want to make sure the everyone gets a chance to win no matter how loud they are.
