Can I get some starter crossover points

Currently half way done my install but I dont know where to start with my x over points

Sub is an Alpine Type R 12 DVC

Front stage is a pair of passive Lanzar Opti 6.1. The passives have 3 choices, -3db 0 and +3db. What does it mean?

My HU is the Kenwood X794.

Thanks in advance

the -3db etc is most likely referring to tweeter attenuation. you can dial them back depending on their location, your preference etc to get better level matching between them and the mids.

80hz is probably a decent starting point. i doubt the lanzars will handle much lower than that. 80-100ish is your best bet probably.

being passive, its a set point between mid and tweeter, so you don't have to worry about that.

LP 100 for the sub
HP 100 for the components on 0db

With all gains on your amp set to 1/4 and everything on your head unit set to default with the tuner set to flat.

Is where I'd start personally.

ya i meant 80 for sub and 80 for comps. you will most likely end up a little higher though if you like your music real loud.

as stated above, set it up with the deck set to flat and tweeters set at 0db.

i wouldnt run subs higher than 80hz. sounds like ****. i run mine at 50hz and as soon as i can run lower im going down to 40hz.. for ur tweet i preffer the lowest point first and try a wack of music and if its missing detail go up a notch until u like it.. everything is personnal choice. but starters. 80hz for sub and ur mid and start low on tweets

How about what you are powering everything with ? ...and the Crossover slopes and alignments available ?

80hz is a great starting point, but if 12db/oct slopes are your only choices, all that will leave you with is a boomy sounding subwoofer and overworked mids.

More info required.
