Hey folks, I'd just popped into A&B sound as buddy at visions heard a rumor that they had some of the decks (iva-w200) in stock that i was lookin for. Could be believable...i've heard folks in the US have had em since march 30th and seen em popping up on ebay outta the US and UK.

Now me being the nice guy i am...would like to buy local, and would like a warranty (was liking visions warranty), but i'm not sure i can wait another month or so for them to get them (they guessed).

So anyways, buddy at A&B sound says order it direct from alpine. Says i'll get it quicker and probably cheaper (whereas i woulda thought they'd go by their MSRP or what not).


Is there any truth to this? If shops can't/haven't gotten them in Canada, would i really be able to order one myself?


ps, i can't phone from where i'm at...cause well i'm at work on the phone talking to some poor sap that broke his computer...otherwise I would just phone...but i'm hoping to get some answers from you folks.

 

If Alpine would sell direct to you, it would be more than likely at suggested retail. I can't see them selling direct at all though as this would circumvent their dealer base. This means that Alpine would be both the distributor and the retailer, thus double dipping for that matter. This would **** off their dealer base to no end. Now as I am not an Alpine dealer, but based on 20+ years in the industry, I cannot see Alpine selling direct at all. Your best bet if you want one in a hurry is to contact a authorized Alpine specialty dealer (like Defro) and see how long it would take to get one in for you.

 

Heh, hope i wasn't stepping on any toe's, didn't really wanna buy direct from alpine...just sorta looking at the quickest legitimate way to get my hands on one of these fancy lil things.
