Well i'm not sure its the installation, because we had another deck in the car and it worked fine for a while, then this started so we got another deck, same thing, so then we got this one.

don't know what to tell you then. the problem has to start somewhere. if the problem started with the previous deck/HU, and you got a new one and the problem is still there, then isn't it possible it's something other than the deck? I'd check the wiring for the deck, and to all the speakers for any problems.

Well its a Neon so you should only have the one set of speakers in the door and rear deck and unless you have them running on only 2 of the 4 channels that HU has, then you either have a bad speaker, a short or a power problem that causes the deck to go silent once there is a certin amount of draw. If I were you I would run it into a shop nearby where an expert can figure out whats up before you have any larger issues.

3 times same problem coupled with a admitted lack of car audio knowledge = recipe for disaster. Take the vehicle into a shop and get the install looked at and troubleshot.

Sounds to me like it's time for you to take the car to a shop and have them check out your wiring. Somewhere in there is a wire that is not connected as it should be, and a tech with a meter and some diagnostic skills should be able to figure it out in short order. The money you have spent already is gone, no point in buying another deck (or amp, for that matter) until you get it sorted out.
