Car Audio Legend!

I remember Ken's Civic. He had the teal 93 with gold BBS rims right? I remember usually seeing it under a cover at the Edmonton shows I would see him at (that's one thing I do not miss about the old days is the sercetness of alot of the competitors and their unwillingness to show-off their cars). And when SPL still counted, his car would only muster a 102 dB score but could still win based on install and sound quality. I recall the story about the car being that he was going to have the Civic as his commuter car so he could turn his Audi (?) into a competition car but ended up doing the Civic instead. After I got my Mustang, I was at an outdoor show in north Edmonton and he commented at how nice the rather elaborate 3-way passive crossover setup that Dukk made was, which was visible in my sub box.
Another really nice car was that black Trans Am GTA with the Rockford gear in it and it had 4 RF Audiophile 10s in the back which had the silkscreening re-done in gold along with Punch DSM amps in front of it.
Oh, and we can't forget good ole Dan Pohlmus (sp?) and his Quart-filled Civic. Was anybody there for the infamous flip-out that he did after his car got stolen and stripped? I had heard he was so enraged he vowed never to build a competition car again.

Dan was so convinced that a fellow competitor trashed his car and 3 others that he threatened to take a hit out on the person if he ever found them, but he never did return to competition.................some one did pop up on Car Sound about a year ago claiming to be him and he knew something things that few people knew...................so who knows.......................I met him several times, he was over the top with his ego and attitude, but it was nice to see him blow his lid when he found out that Todd M beat his record for the triple crown award.................in fact the only year the offically recognized it was the year that Todd won, which pissed Dan off even more.............Dan had pissed off several of the people on the IASCA board that they decided to create that award that year for Todd.....................the yelling match between Todd and Dan in the "showcase" was funny as hell, Todd won hands down cause he just kept laughing and saying "you like that don't you"................
ahhhh.....good times..............
Ohhh......and Paulo's car was also one of the ones detroyed with Dan's................the story was that they pieced together one car out of everyones to compete at finals but once they got it there it just couldn't compete...................not sure who's it was though..........

Dan's car was pretty outrageous for the time. Most of the top finishers were doing pretty low key installs, so his sure was something different.
Anyone remember "CARTEL", when a bunch of the dealers started working together holding the competitions?
Actually seeing someone haul their cars to competitions in a dual enclosed trailer (Holly) was interesting too.
Didn't Shane MacIssac have a pretty competitive Mustang as well? Might have to go digging for some old pictures

Dan's personalities aside, his Civic was pretty amazing with all the complements to Bill Blythe.
Shane did own a competitive Mustang that did well in the circuit. Shane is totally opposite of Dan, a truly nice guy.
IASCA's good olde days....
