did you check to see if there is anything at all coming out of it. the switch would work but you could do a relay setup if the rem is putting out anything.

Now why would you want a switch...how inconvinient is that.... not to mention you will forget to switch it off.

If you dont know how to find your REM find someone who can show you. You can also hook up your rem to a free accesorie wire if you look in the fuse box.

If you dont have one, try using a small wire and connect it from your distro block to your remote input on the amp and see if that turns on the amp.
though the test light would work in this instance, I would not recommend using them for really anything else if you have a vehicle that was made in the early to mid 90's and later... when it comes to ABS computers, and ECU's test probes can cause severe damage, and especially when working around ABS systems, they can deploy the airbags if the wrong wier is probed. they run like 5 to 10 bucks, and you can get a cheap Digital multimeter for 15 bucks if you look.

just an FYI...

Do you mean it can happen when probing car deck wires?

yeah, the switch is cool, but can be easily forgotten. I will just have to remember to switch it off everytime. It has a built in led, just gotta figure out what to connect that lead to. Well, amp is installed, I am happy

Take care guys!

PS* My switch job was very clean though Wired it under the carpet, and mounted the switch in the center console armrest area in the open box just below my coin holder
