haha.. YEa i've noticed that its a good car for sound, the bass is not at 1-10 on my deck its its pretty loud, I did deaden the trunk lid, cuz I knew it was going to rattle from a friends subs I tested in the car.. I just don't like the rear bumper ... It doesn't rattle too bad, but I think i'm going to lay this thick rubber i got into the bottom of the car, well going up agaist the latch for the trunk, so that the waves get absorbed instead or travelling to the bottom lol.. I don't know if that made sense, but thanks pugs for clarifying that knew you would come around for a cutty !

I never got around to deadening the trunk floor. I had a big problem with the bass vibrating my spare tire around so I layed some 1/4" rubber matting in the spare tire well, and another piece ontop of the spare tire cover to hold the carpet in place. By doing this it prevents the box from sliding around in the trunk. My car still rattles. Its unpreventable in some cars. Now my next problem is the rear windshield moulding.

here are some pics Cheap camera..

I got another question.. Do you think aiming the sub the other way, towards my back seat, will keep vibrations fromr attling my trunk.. and if I were to sorta put some stuffing in the cracks (its already a tight fit), cuz I'm so worried about the bumper haha.. I would kill myself from embarrassment if my bumper fell off lol.

spend the 80 bux and get the bottom of the car undercoated... it will at least hinder the rust from getting worse... and it'll take a lot of the under car rattles out... plus it'll save your brake lines/gas lines from rusting out... I blew out a brake line on the highway a few weeks ago, not a fun experience... luckily I managed not to hit anything

From my expierience facing the sub forward in the cutty sounds like crap. By far facing the rear is the best. Unless you have a fold down rear seat, then its a different story.

see how you're talking about domestic cars here....if you want a real car buy an import
That's funny, then you can put a huge *** spoiler on it and a big tailpipe because those add like 50 RWHP. And don't forget about the stickers. Hahaha, imports suck!

By imports... are you talking about the Toyota's that are built in Canada or the US? Possibly the VW's made in Mexico?

And the next time you think imports are all that and a bag of chips, try phoning a Toyota dealership and getting in for service...

I had a 2007 Camry, 7,000km, tranny needed to be replaced. Before that had a 2004 Nissan Maxima, by 25,000 had whole front end including struts replaced, new brake rotors, 2 pressure cracked windshields, chrome rood trim and 2 factory recalls. Got rid of both and bought a 16 year old bimmer, haven't been to the repair shop since.

Maybe the little weedwacker go karts are ok but the Japanese still haven't figured our how to translare a German How-To manual so BMW is still safe from the copying teams from Honda and Toyota.

On another note!!!

Those Cutlass are nice cars actually and last forever. Ride nice and have good performace for the size of car. With respect to the bumper... if the mounting holes are beginning to rust, you may be in trouble...

I would consider getting it fixed now before it's a major repair and you need bungee cords

Cheers

I'm pretty handy, when it gets warmer, I'm ganna look into it.. right now tis just really wet and all (muddy ) I'm hoping to fiberglass it underneath with some cloth.. see what I can do.. I don't know how this bumper is designed, I'd have to look for some pics of the bumper taken off to see how its really being held on, cuz in the back theres 2 brackets, but on the bottom part, it isn't really holding half the bumper, but then again, i've stood on it before.. its really strong, the only rattle I get is these bracket type things that completely rusted and kinda just fell off..

If a total bumper re-install would have to be done i'm usre it wouldn't cost that much, mayb hit up ajunk yard and get an old bumper , and its brackets, but I'm hoping that the car will die before that haha..

Anybody know any cures for sore ears ?!.. No audio for a few days ? lol..

anyways, thanks for helping me with ideas .. Keep them coming
