CHECK OUT THIS CAP!!!!!
I would start with a good battery(I have used Optima yellow tops and not had problems)and upgrade all your factroy wiring(re:big 3)then see whats hapening and go from there.I run 1500w all day long with a stock alt and battery and no cap,and before a stock alt, with big 3 upgrade in my firefly(50amp alt) and a yellow top.No problems!

well there you go ...no one had told me that...al i kept hearing was "more batteries" and "get a cap".
I have the stock altinator and a good battery (not an optima) I will try the big 3 first and see how that does as I have lots of 4g ground wire and connectors so I will test the system with a volt meter first and then upgrade the grounds and test again.

Use 1/0 awg wire for all the upgrades, no point in handicapping yourself off the bat.
Alternator is the key, with out it you have nothing, get the largest alternator you can afford or fit..............
THEN get a good battery, the Exide orbital specs out better then a optima and they are cheaper, I swear by orbitals................to many people have issues with optima's, lots of people have good luck but the bad always outway the good.............
Caps are evil..........bad.....very bad......waste of money..................for the price of a cap you can buy a orbital at crappy tire for $179 and have a good warranty..........
You need batteries that can charge and discharge quickly...............even most deep cycles take to long to charge and discharge............when your burping you lose all your energy, you need to be able to recharge the batteries quickly for your next round.......................cat batteries can take days to even get a decent charge in them....................
Come by the shop one day and we can show you a few things.............
