Clarion driving Kaption...HOT

I just installed a new set of Kaption 6.5 component drivers in my civic doors.
Previously Energy (Futureshop) components, and the drivers got water damaged.
so I using the energy tweets and crossovers to the Kaption 6.5's, driven by a clarion bridged to 2 channels about 100 watts per. They sound great, but the clarion is SUPER hot now driving at medium levels. Both the Energy's and the Kaptions are 4 ohms. The Clarion ran cool with the Energy's.
What is the reason why the Clarion is hot now? Any input? It hasn't shut down yet, but....
the published power handling on the Kaptions is more than enough to handle the Clarion 100.
Install location of the amp is well ventilated and no different than before.

the only install difference between the two is baffles on the Kaptions, cut somewhat to allow airflow but protect against window dripping.

what am I missing here?

Do you have access to a DMM(multimeter) to check the impedance load? Sounds like the Clarion is working really hard, leading me to think it's seeing a lower impedance load than you figured.
