Class D/ AB/ Mono Block?
#1
K I know that obviously Class D amps have drastically less strain on a vehicles electrical system then a class AB amp but if I was to use a Class AB MONO BLOCK amp (looking at a Visonik 2108) would this have any less strain on my vehicles electrical system than using say a 4 CHANNEL 1200 watt class AB amp (Visonik V2608).
OR is class AB just class AB no matter what way u slice it??
BECAUSE
I'm looking to run a single 10" sub in a sealed enclosure AND also have to run my 6.5" mids so wondering if it will be better to run this mono block AB amp to my sub and just run my infinity mids off my Pioneer DEH-P4500Mp HU
OR
Run the sub with the Mono Block amp and run the mids off a crappy but huge Pyramid PB880 amp i have lying around instead of running them off my HU
OR
Buy the 2 channel AB amp and run the mids AND the Sub off the one amp?
Thanks for all the help over the last couple months.
Cheers All
Jeff.
By the way I drive a 2001 GMC Sierra Ext Cab.
If that makes a diff on how it will sound.

1200 watts is 1200 watts no matter how many channels you slice it into
class a/b is less efficient than class d of course .........
so back to your question a 4 channel 1200 watts class a/b amp will draw the same as a 1200 watt class a/b mono block ........so use the 4 channel

Okay SO ,
I'm thinking since I'm kinda a broke a**
This setup might work out for me then...
Let me know if you all think this will sound descent for a somewhat budgeted system!!..
A Visonik 4208 4 channel amp to run a single Power Acoustik FUBR 10" in a sealed enclosure and a set of 6.5" Infinity 652i's.
1. Will that amp have enough power to run that sub which is rated at 600 Watt RMS AND also run the mids? (and I guess I'll have to bridge the amp obviously to get full potential out of that sub?)
AND
2. How are the Power Acoustik FUBR subs or Power Acoustik Subs in general?
Thanks
Jeff

I can already guess the answer I'm gonna get but gonna ask anyways....
Is there any possibility of the Pyramid PB880 I have lying around pushing a Single Pioneer premier or a Power Acoustic FUBR 10" in a small sealed enclosure ...
I realize it would be better used as a doorstop or a paperweight but for the time being I'm wondering if it would push?
heres a link to Specs for the PB880 Amp
Cheers
