Ever built an Extreme vehicle?

Do you think the Pioneer truck, Craig Butlers van or the Twins Trooper would be quick or easy to rebuild?

The point is... you're talking about something in which you clearly have no clue.

I'm not... I'm just saying you're ignorant about this subject.

(I think I'm moderately qualified to give an opinion on SPL builds though)
You're right Jordy.

You seem to think just because my focus in the past is SQ that I'm ignorant to how to apply SPL methods and Cost?

I've seen spl build first hand for the past 17 years Jordy. I may not be fully up to date with the techniques on how to make a car weigh 30.000+ lbs or waste countless hours building a vehicle that 'A' can't be driven, 'B' has only one purpose 'C' is a waste of money in IMHO. Call me ignorant fine, thats your opinion. I have just as much right state my opinion here just like everyone else does.

Well, they are way different when it comes to building.

When you need to do a simpler rebuild on said cars this is what you need:

plasma cutter or heavy duty torch (for the 1" steel plates), jackhummer, big welder, big sander, etc.

when you want to test you either work on a temperature controlled environment or you have a big AC cooling the cabin

when you burp at full power you need to let things cool down and charge for 20-25 minutes minimum before doing it again. If you burp too many times be ready for a door rebuild or changing window seal, is crazy.

It is competition, the 1st place wins. Ask to a HT enthusiast what he thinks about true SQ inside a 1.5m³ metal can on wheels, he will say the same as you said on letter "C".

Touche! But I bet 90% haven't heard a properly tuned sq car! A car is no where near to my reference system but it's give them a good run for the money!

Suv's would be my choice. something late 90's early 2000's. they have more room. easyer to work with. hatches tend to amplify the sound a little better. denali, tahoe, yukon, suburban. they would be my top choices going for a higher end SPL vehicle.

to me cars like yours are a waste of money, sure it sounds nice but to me it would sound just as nice with half the work, and gear that costs half.

SPL cars can also be a waste of money, like a wall with 4 15's barely breaking 150 on AC mic. Not only money, that's also a waste of effort.

what you said there can also be said about SQ cars. to me they can only do 1 thing - and that is stay locked in the parking lot at a show until a judge has to get into it, then it's 5 min of music that you cant even hear from the outside and then it's locked again.

like have you ever seen a crowd of people around an SQ car durring it's judging "run" ??? yah me neither, that is boring as fukk, cant even get a single spectator.
