dd subs

alright so i too dont have a ton of experience with car audio but i do read a lot about it on the internet.
atm i have 2 10" infinity perfects with a 1211A infinity amp 1300rms, i find that the subs seem to play the music more than actual bass in other words they dont produce a lot of physical vibration on most types of bass eg. linkin park
i cant seem to fix the problem so lately iv been looking up info on DD subs, any info on them would be greate iv heard good things, but what kind of bass do they work best with, sorry i havnt figgred out all the terms for that yet lol.
or any ideas on the subs, i just find that they r way too powerfull for me anyway and i think i might like going to 1 12" DD sub
thanks again

it sounds to me that your crossover might be set to too high of a frequency... set your low pass filter (or LPF) switch to on and turn your crossover point to 80hz or lower.... with 1300rms you should have some bass in there somewhere, hope that helps..

the one on the head unit makes no detectable difference and the controls on the amp are kinda different, theres no gain control and theres no switches to control crossover but there is a frequency dial and i have it set at low wich leaves me with very little volume from the subs but if i turn it up it sound pretty bad, its a high end infinity amp, not that infinity is a compitition brand but they make good products...
i got them real cheap so i think im going to sell them and make a profit and try out a DD sub in a custom box, just need to figgure out which series

maby its not the subs? could be the amp or deck. those subs hit hard, with 600W's rms going to 2 of the perfect 12's it hurt my nose, and it shoop the hell out of a buddy's van.

the HU is a sony xplod CDX-F7715X. i know a lot of people hate xplod but im realy happy with it. the freq. settings on it seem to make no difference, perhaps im expecting too much out of them.... but im compairing it to the last subs i had, 1 10" rockford p1 in a ported box and 1 12" orion in a sealed lol but i had an alpine MRV-F352 amp powering them wich iv heard is a realy nice amp but its just not eanough to power the infinty subs

The ideal DD sub for your application is the DD3512 dual 4 ohm. This will allow your amp to produce maximum output for the application. Build a custom doghouse for the sub and watch out, objects in mirror may fall apart. Keep a leash on the dog, you don't want to **** off the entire neighbourhood as you roam around with him. This sub in the right custom box and the right power is a real good match. Interested, drop me a PM for more info.
