deck install having troubles

k im confused out of my mind right now. im trying to install the deck on my own. this is the wire set up i have to hook it up to, its the stock one. im not sure of what wire goes where. and this is the wiring set up of the harness i have its the one with the 16 pins and is 1999 and newer. could some one give me a lead as to where these wires go that are not in the stock wiring

i don't know whats so confusing

its wire for wire, very easy

Only extra you will have is Antenna (If you dont have a power antenna), Remote and Phone mute.

Those wont be on the OEM harness

did you buy a harness for your car, or you just gonna cut off the stock harness and wire it up to the clarion harness? (bad choice)

ooooo ok ill add a wiring harness to my list of things i need to buy for the install. and i guess i should start putting the other wiring harness back together then

k scrap that i guess now i need a install kit, gm wiring harness a harness that will conect to that and i should be set. why is it a bad choice to just cut the harness and add to the wires.

Because then if you want to switch decks, or put the stock one back in, you don't have very much wire to work with. Unplugging a harness is much easier than spicing wires together in a cramped space.

Because not all manufactures follow the standard colors: (grey, white, green, purple AND then yellow, red and black)

If you need to ask that question you should not be installing on your own yet. Leave it to the professionals until you know what you are doing.. it will save time/money/agrivation.

thirs 2 yellow wires ones a speaker wire and the others a 12v ignition wire how can i tell which ones which.
