Dex-p99rs

I may have overlooked a thread....but I could find any information regarding the unit too recently.

Now that we know it is available in the states and soon to be in Canada, I have a simple question.

Aside from the few japanese menus, why purchase the unit here without the 6channel amp for roughly the same price or more?

are the internals exactly the same as the overseas model?
anyone know?

contemplating retiring the McIntosh for this unit:s

I spoke to three different Pioneer reps in the booth (wrote their names down somewhere). All three said "available sometime in Summer 2010", and all three said "about $1,200.00." Recall that the RS-P99RS does NOT include the mini amplifier that comes with the DEH-P01, and there is a viable rumor out of Philippines and Thailand that the DEH-P01, the Jap version, has better internal parts, but I have NOT confirmed that (but would make sense because the Japs commonly do only send us the price point stuff).

if that is the case I think that I will put up with Japanese menus.

same/better internals and the 6channel amp.

If you GAF, the Japanese use a different FM frequency spectrum than NA, so you're not going to be able to pick up some stations with the Japanese model.

Sure is sexy though!

ya, would have to buy a frequency extender thingy

personally i never listen to the radio.

the biggest thing that would make me leary about buying a japanese one = warranty.

with a headunit that exspensive, probably a good idea.

The voltage readout is a neat little touch

jstoner22 01-11-2010 04:10 PM

voltage readout?

does it tell you in real time the strength of the preouts? or is it of the electrical system?

RomanticMoments 01-11-2010 04:13 PM

It's the vehicle's voltage in real time. Look at the pic Jaloosk posted, it's right below the CD logo on the right lower corner of the screen
