You would need two sealed enclosers as stated above.
1. It WILL look absolutely horrible
2. It WILL sound even worse!
3.

Sooooo....
1. Hide it
2. Use separate boxes
3. Learn to love the sound you get
see...there's a solution to every problem...ofcourse you could just get a matching sub and be done with it!

Okay consensus wins, likely won't do it. As for getting another bassworx I am not entirely satisfied with the range of the sub, it goes down to 30 hz. Was hoping to get a little lower. I'll just play around with the tuning more and see what I can get out of it.

Ok, stop the bus and get off. The sub will play to the tuning point of the box. 30 hz is almost into subharmonics and you need to be way far away from a sub to hear it, this is into the feel it territory. The box is going to determine what you hear and feel. Is your box ported (then you change the tuning frequency) or sealed (and it plays to a set point and then rolls off naturally). This is sounding more like a box issue than a sub issue. A sub just does not magically stop producing sound at 30hz jsut because a spec sheet says so. What generally will stop a sub from playing is a brick wall. Even if you employ a ported box with a subsonic filter (required), it rolls of the response at whatever the slope of the subsonic filter is, it still plays below it, just with little effort so as to keep your sub operating safely. Want better performance, add a second identical sub (provided you amp can operate a pair of them) and tell us about the box.

Box is self made, 3/4" MDF, glued and screwed. Rectangular with an internal volume of 1.4 cubic feet. At the upper range of the recommended sealed enclosure specs of 1.5 cubic feet. I am also within the specs for a ported enclosure as well so I could do that as well. Adding the second sub is definitely an option however the one store in my town (Kamloops, BC) that actually stocks bassworx sold me their last of the Bassworx 12.2 subs.

If you decide to add a different mis-match woofer make sure you use a box that has a common chamber and they should sound fine.... there will be some differences in the subs but overall should perform ok together

If you already have a different sub...just try it and listen. If it sounds good, keep it and use fabric covered grills to hide them.

I have lots of these subs in stock and get them into a ported box, they will come to life. Interested in me shipping one up to you?
