Hope to get some clarification on the pots used for remote gain control. Specifically for my mtx 500d.
I read Toy's diy for a 50k ohm gain control for (I think) PG amps. Is 50k ohm resistance pretty much universal for any amps remote gain? Does anyone know what resistance the MTX EBC is?

I spoke with the instrument guy at work and he was showing me some pots and I noticed it takes like 10 turns from stop to stop. Generally the remote gains I've seen are maybe one turn stop to stop. Different type of pot? I've heard the term "tapered" pot, but other than that I have little to go on.
I know, lots of ?, but I tried googling for info and I just find pages of companys selling them, not much info.

Gene.

I've tried what you're thinking of, it doesn't work.
