Do You Carry A Spare Tire Anymore?
#21
always do, and always design my system around it. I've lived in many new residential areas and I've had my fair share of flats, and I travel far distances at night in areas without 24 hour service centres, so for me it's a necessity. I even have a mini floor jack in there. It's nice to have a big trunk!

yes sir. The only thing I had done was the sub box, since I no longer have wood working tools. It was built to my specs, using Alpine's recommendations of .85 cubes per driver, I increased that slightly to .95 cubes and added 1lb of polyfill per driver. This yielded a net internal of about 1.2 per driver sealed...very clean, and tight bass, and gets plenty loud for a daily driver. The amp rack was designed to mount to the back of the box, insulated against vibration and flex by a series of 2" thick spacers. All wiring, relays, amps (except the hifonics), sound processor, fuses and distro blocks are mounted to it. If I need to remove the box and amps, all I have to do is unbolt it from the floor, and unplug the main power and ground wires, ai net din cables( deck to processor, and processor to control unit), and a molex plug for the speaker wires. Everything else is hard wired to the amp rack. This allowed me to do all the wiring indoors, and then just hook everything up...really easy and worked out very well. Ultimately it allowed the space I needed for my open house signs..I'm a realtor... and access to my full size spare.
