I'm ditching my Altima and opting for a Civic hatch back. I would love nothing more than to keep the tempest but I would love some trunk space as well.

My question is this...does anyone have an approximate idea of the volume of the spare tire well in a 5th gen civic hatch? I have a feeling that it wouldn't be near enough for the ol tempest but I want to make sure before I decide whether or not to sell it and opt for something smaller.

 

its very small

i had a mdf box i stuff in there and got maybe 1/2 cubes so id assume maybe 2 cubes if glassed

just a guess its not that big

 

it would be cubed so something tells me that 2 cubes is a weeee little bit on the small side for a tempest. Possibly time to sell it and get a shiva...I'm addicted to adire.

 

On a side note,, you can glass the spare tire well, then build a 4" wall out of MDF from the bottom of the trunk up.. Cut a peice of MDF the the shape of your trunk flooring, making like a false floor and giving you 3 to 4 cubic feet, and the depth to mount the tempest.

 

The shiva hoggs room as well. 2-3 cubes
wont get most of what it offers if you put it in
a small box.

look into the 10 koda if you like the adire stuff.
Or maybe a brahma. It only needs 1 cube sealed... and will sound amazing and GET stupid LOUD.

 

But I love the damn tempest so much! lol

If i can sell the tempest I can get a 12w3 from a buddy of mine hopefully.
