ohms doesn't make a sub better...different voice coil configurations are used for
matching the amplifier...

sub size doesn't really matter either..it's personal preference

I figured, but why are there 4 ohm subs that are more expensive?? and advertised as 4 ohm

The average sub woofer coil has 4 windings. So if a sub is a dual coil, you will simply have 2 windings per input. Coil configuration has little to do with a speakers price. You can find DVC subs for more and less then single coil subs. Pricing depends on other factors. And just so you understand, DVC (dual voice coil) subs do not actually have two voice coils. They just have two inputs to the same coil. There are some subs (like the JBL GTi) that do have two separate coils, but this is not the norm. The impedance of the coil is created buy the coil wire gauge and height of the coil.

okay, so would 2 or 4 coil be better?

that depends on your amp specs to see what match will give you the most power...

What is better is the one that is matched to your needs. This is why I was asking you so many questions earlier in your other threads. You are still all over the map and you are destined for failure. You are soliciting information and trying to learn in 1 month what it has taken most people years to learn. Find a good dealer, go there.

thanks, so it basically all depends on the amp and sub combination?
