So, it looks as if you primed it again (with something) after pic 5 (yellow) and then sanded it down?
And then how did you end up with the final product, what is that material / compound?

Here are the steps Ive done so far. im no expert here, just always nice to share experiances.

Lay out : I basically worked with what I had. I really did not have any room to work with, the crank and the sections that are unusable when the door gets shut took up pretty much all my space. I did these build the hardest way possible, not by choice, in my case it was not possible.their was a previous hole from the last 3 way set I had to layer over, and all the creases in the door made it almost impossible to do pods. so I basically had to reconstruct 90% over the door. I found the most logical spot to glue the rings, and the crossover holder.

Resin: first I layed down flece and a good ammount of resin, once that dryed I secured it right to the panel with screws, than put down a second layer of woven matt. which is the yellow your seeing in the 5th pic.

Filler: as stated, this is the hardest, tidiest part, I must have bondowed, sanded, bondowed, sanded at least 8 times, getting ALL the waves and scratches out..

Paint: I first painted with a SEM high build primer. than I applied two coats of SEM textured coating, next I plan on painting with SEM top coat that matches the OEM panels, than finishing off with a SEM clear coat, Im going for the flat look on these ones.

things to keep in mind, make sure you have the time an patience to do it, make sure you have the money, because its not cheap, and buying crappy paint and what not will show.

thanks for the feedback everyone

Not bad for a first try......if you get any better you might have to ponder an interesting part-time gig.....

The avatar is a fluke.....I was looking thru the list and I saw this old guy standing on a beach in front of a palm tree, wearing his PJs in the middle of the day, carrying what at first glance looked like a guitar and flashing a peace sign.

I thought that looks like a decent way to retire so I've been using it for a while.

It was several years later someone finally clued me in as to who it really was......
