I've got an f150 and the specs say that the doors will take 6X8 speakers. Anyone know for sure. Also I am looking at a set of 6 3/4 components. Assuming that the doors will take 6x8 is there any disadvantage to going to the smaller size speaker if the large will fit?

 

What year is the F150? 99% of all Fords are going to take a 6x8" as a stock size. 6.75" component speaker will definitely fit just fine with the proper adaptor plate.

Speakers are definitely a 6x8" and 6.75" speaker will indeed fit for sure.
