Hey guys, looking for some information that I am not finding anywhere else...

I was wondering if the 9860, and a LCD screen (or touch screen) could be used for displaying track status, or HU status, navagation (with an added GPS unit???) or it it strictly just for video playback?

thanks guys, Mark

what sort of options would I have if I got the TME-M770? as far as deck control, or deck status...

thanks, Mark

hey guys, I hate to dig up an old thread, but I never did get a definitive anser on this, unless the answer already posted was 100% true... Could anyone n the know, please clarify this for me, as to what options if any I would have with that screen, or if I wouldn't have any "touch" functions, but could view track information, and tuner information.

thanks guys, Mark

I realize that I could call Alpine, but I just don't have the time during the day to do it, that's why 90% of my posts are between 11 pm, and 10 am... that's when I have the time... I guess I could always email them about it, but was just hoping for some ideas..

you won't have much control through the screen of the DVA9860 but if you get the TMEM770S you will get volume control I believe.

i dunno what a touch screen alone is worth.

But it sounds like you might just be better off to get the IVA-W200 from alpine when it comes out, then have both devices in one, and have capabilities to do whatever thru the touch screen.

Just a thought.

I already have the deck and love it. just was thinking about adding a screen, and the price isn't too bad, under 500 for the regular standard LCD.

besides the fact that I hate motorized screens on HU's, too many moving parts to break.
