My first topic here, so - Hi, everybody!
Probably newbie question too - I'm looking to buy a DVD deck, pretty much just to play MP3s off it. Single DIN, a screen would be nice - have a hard time imagining how to browse through directories with a single line of text. The best unit I've seen, feature/price wise, is a Valor ITS-301D - but, frankly, I've never heard of this brand, so a little skeptical on the quality, although the reviews I found are mostly positive. Are there any users of this unit that can share the experiences ?
Then there's a JVC KD-AVX11 - higher priced, and less featured, but from a known brand name, Boss BV7950 - fairly cheap and from a known brand too, Jensen VM8012 , and a few more from brands that sound kinda funny.
Also there's a few DVD decks without a screen JVC KD-DV5400, Alpine has DVA-9861 - which is kinda expensive, though, I don't want to go a lot higher than $300. I guess I could take a look at double-DIN units, but they're generally too expensive - except maybe for a few Valor units (e.g. Valor ITS-702W) and
So, kinda lots of choices, but still hard too choose - the number of reviews on those units isn't high.. Any help in picking a unit would be greatly appreciated
Btw, did anyone order from SonicElectronix and Crutchfield USA to Canada ? Did you get hit with taxes at the border ?
