I'm looking at a new pair of subs in the legitimate future, and the only way I can see going is with ED subs, I'm playing with 700 RMS or so @ 2 ohms, so I'm taking suggestions... 2 e12k.14 or 2 e8a (if I can get a single 4 ohm, or dual 2 ohm coil)

looking for consesnsus on which would do better, and suggestions for installation options... the 8's could go inside the passenger compartment in fiberglass pods on the side walls in the back, the 12s would have to go in the trunk, probly ported

Tough call. I'd probably go for the 12s, unless a) you really want that trunk space, b) you have some sort of fetish for small woofers, or c) you want to show up people who think that 8s can't get loud...

Or you could buy my 15A, and blow away both of your other options...except that I'm not sure I'm selling yet...

I'm looking at a maximum of $700 to spend so the A series is a bit out of reach, plus I only have about 700 RMS for the pair, the e10os could be an idea too, I hadn't thought about them. Also... I LOVE showing people how loud 8s can get.

Hmm I would get the 8" becouse its small and soo tight loooking. Id also get it becouse its more rare then the eD subs them self (the size) and becouse they are pretty damn loud I keep hearing. And if you want really damn loud and really damn clean, I would get a pair of 10"s. Allthough I havent herd them play, I wouldnt have to worry about performance or anything becouse there is enough people that have them and love them...

The 8 is NEVER going to match up with the 12, all things being equal, I dont think.
I am not a big 8 fan, simply because once you start hitting an 8 with enough power, as Rob on the board can attest, issues seem to arise. Also, once the box gets big enough to meet ED's specs, the size advantage you had with the 8 goes out the window, so you arent really gaining much, in the 'space' battle.

Just my opinion though, I have no woofer 'size' fetish, I must sadly admit

I would check out the closeout sale in the other ED post, and see what you can scrounge up there, Save yourself some change regardless.

My dilemma right now, is between ordering 2 e10o's @ $185 USD ea. or bumpin up to 2 e10a's @ $270 USD .... do they e10a's really make up in performance compared to their price.

If I go with the e10o's, I order tomorrow... If I decide on the e10a's, I wait a week or two before ordering...
