Eagles at MSG
just got back from a 3100km road trip, to see the Eagles at Madison Squre Garden....and it was worth every mile.
The last stop of their Farewell 1 tour. I'm sure there'll be a Farewell 6, if they're still standing, lol, so when they do a repeat, don't miss it.
We had seats dead centre, about 15 rows behind the sound board, up about 6 ft from the floor.
The sound was horrible when they started the first song, reverb was way off, but by the third song they had it dialed in. It just kept getting better, and better, and after almost three hours, it was incredible. Not a lot of bass, just enough to feel it and no more. I gotta turn my subs down now when I play Hell Freezes Over.
They played a lot of each of their singles, Boys of Summer, Rocky Mountain Way, Walk Away, Life's Been Good, You Belong To The City, to name just a few of the highlites.
Don's voice was a bit older, and maybe a bit tired, from three shows around New York, but still awesome. Glen sounded like always.
Joe was his usual genius on the Strat, and his voice was...well...Joe.
A large wide screen and two smaller screens provided good close-ups.
A DVD is due out in June of the Melbourne concert...can't wait for that.
