So i've purchased the 5030 from Rob at Forbidden (thanks again Rob) and it's a great deck. 2 great features are auto eq and time alignment...except it doesn't come with the microphone for that (MEI-100). I at first thought the bluetooth mic would do the job but that's not the case. So i look around locally and no one even knows what i'm talking about. I call Eclipse and they say "oh yeah it's around, just call your local dealer". The local dealers have never heard of it and can't even find pricing.

What the hell's the point on having 2 cool features and then making it virtually impossible to take advantage of them???

Also, Alpine decks say it has imprint, but it is a seperate mod...hmmm

 

I am actually looking at getting the same deck off rob as well, he told me that the canadian rep does not distribute the mics because demand has been so low, he was explaining to me that in a well set up system that it should be unnecessary, I still think it would be cool to play with for $20, I was planning to order the mic from sonic electronics or ebay.
Please do a full review on the deck I am still on the fence between this and the kenwood 993, leaning to the eclipse though...

 

a reasonably well set up system will be superior to Imprint for most peoples ears. I have faith that this will NOT always be the case

If anyone does get this mic let us know how well it works. I have an eclipse cd7000 and was thinking of getting it just to see how well it works.

 

Rob will be including one with my order when it comes in so I will give a newbs opinion on how easy it is to use and the results.

 

I messaged Rob about getting one as well. It looks like virtually no one has used this feature on Eclipse decks.

 

Just placed my order for the deck and mic through rob, should be here tues *next day shipping
will let you know how it works by the end of the week when I get it installed
