Eclipse - The real story from CES
It is true that Eclispe has decided to discontinue selling to the retail level immediately. However the AVN 726e and AVN 4430 will be available in Canada through 2010 and will be changing in 2011 to the fujitsu brand name with a new Navigation model being introduced. All of the accesories for the Nav units be still available for purchase. Your Canadian Eclispe dealer will have full access to the AVN units this year and next year so don't worry.

2 products under the Fujitsu name will be available from dealers like myself. The rest of the line is going to be extinct. Fujitsu will continue to build for OEM only, something that they have done since most people on this forum were in diapers. Basstoy, you really should have bought a 5030, would have brought your system to life. Warranty will still be honoured on all Eclipse products.

Word has it that Eclipse is just taking a year off due to the the fact that the company that built most of their product went bankrupt. Hence the reason that the 4430 and 726e will still be available until 2011. I have heard that the Eclipse name will be back in full force in 2011. I am however not sure about the Fijitsu/Eclipse name controversy. Either way that wont matter since their company is owned by Fijitsu Ten anyhow. This information was provided to myself by T. Baker as per information he/ Rob @ Automobility
