I did some research on the new camaro and the factory amp performs the bass blocking for the front and rear speakers. There is a factory subwoofer (MTX) if you purchase it as an upgrade. The T-harness plugs right inline with the factory amp input (uncontoured) and has an unbalanced RCA output. The MTX Re-Q requires a balanced differential input. How did you connect the harness to the RE-Q and why not just connect the harness straight to the amp and use the Kronos' internal crossover?

i know for a fact there is no factory subwoofer on the 2010 Camaro.

the Kronos will not take an unbalanced signal. it will go straight into DC protect mode.

Just a small addition from the car owner, I have been playing the system while paying close attention to the clipping lights, there is usually no problem when playing lower frequency bass like in rap music, but the moment I put any house music with a higher frequency bass, the clipping lights go nuts! If I tune the system to avoid this, the system is almost inaudible, my stock BA system could basically put out more bass at this point, CERTAINLY NOT what a fi Q 12" @ 1000W RMS should sound like.

Also, at times If the bass signal is too strong (only happens in higher frequencies like house music) I notice that the sub only plays certain notes while cutting out others, Ive never experienced this before, as usually the sub would just cut out completely, however, in this case I starts cutting out only certain notes.

As for the dimming, it happens everywhere, tailights, the LEDs in the Amp dim like crazy, even my headlights. I wouldnt expect this coming from a brand new vehicle.

There is a MTX sub that can be purchased from the dealer, however it is installed with basically the same type of harness we used to install our setup. AND the outputs coming out of this harness are not unbalanced as someone stated before, they were previously measured at 6v floating dc balanced.

What bothers me is the fact that we only used the FRONT 2 low level audio signals that were spliced into in the T harness. I noticed someone said something about having a full frequency range coming from the inputs? HERES A DIAGRAM OF THE X3 HARNESS WHICH IS THE ONE THAT IS SPLICED INTO BY THE T-HARNESS FOR SUB SETUPS. Any different ideas on what we should have used as inputs? (we used whats in PIN 6,7, 14, 15)

Sounds like the input signal is being clipped..

What is the Stock volume set at? 35 was max from my tests.

Do you have access to an oscilloscope?

This may sound weird, or it may just be in my head, but after JALAT and I installed the system It almost felt like the output from the stock system decreased. Where I usually would never be able to crank up the volume any louder than 35 wihtout causing discomfort for my ears, I now find that I MUST crank it to at least 35 to get some decent output from the sub, I find that many times I am maxing out the volume at 45!!! I know it sounds weird but is this even possible? If this were not the case, 35 wouldve also been my max.
