"exile pro e12d subwoofer torture test complete!" -did it pass? (pics)

it lists 2.2cf and a longer port (so I assume lower Tuning frequency?)
I wonder what it sounds like with the larger box but still tuned a bit higher. What exactly is the wool that you used? I like that idea in case I decide I want to remove it.
I work at BB so I want to see what my cost is on this sub and try it out.

Were you able to get your hands on an exile sub yet?

I have not, I think my local store has it, when I looked into it I decided just to hold off and wait till mine blows. I am still going to be considering it in the future though, it sounds like I would be happy with it.

I highly recommend this sub, been running it daily since early this summer and its held up to the beating I've given it. Its powered by an Infinity Reference 1600a in my system upon which I've messed up the tuning and haven't had time to fix it so I'm sure there's a bit of clipping going on too.
Had it in a 3.0cft ported enclosure for a while and it hit incredibly low, accurately and loud! I now have it in a 1.6cft sealed enclosure, and although its not quite as loud or low as it was in the ported box for obvious reasons, it still blows anything in the same price range away.
I've attached a couple graphs from winISD on its response in my ported and sealed enclosures. Green is the ported 3cft tuned to 24hz, yellow is the sealed 1.6cft.
I've been incredibly happy with this sub and would never go back to a big name retail brand again.
BTW, my previous sub was a Kicker cvr8-2 which I succeeded in completely ceasing. No such misfortune or any warning signs at all so far with the Exile.
edit: I apologize if I brought this thread back from the dead, but I had to share my results
Also, the attached image's green results are incorrect, that's actually for a 1.6cft ported enclosure tuned to 34hz.

man I like the look of that ported box graph, but thats a HUGE box for a single 12 in a musical set up isnt it, mine is in a 2cf plus port and its quite big for a 12 I thought. I need to see what I can buy the one I found in my store for (have one new in box in our warehouse (we dont actually sell them its just there)

Hey cbigganz,
..........I agree with you 100%. These exile xpe12d subs are an incredible value for the money and appear to be bullitproof. I recently built a box that is 3.2 cu.ft in total (1.6 / chamber) for 2 of them and is tuned to 36hz. I have not installed it yet............Can you come up with a few graphs on what would be the ideal set up??? I want high spl, but with tons of bass. I went with 1.6 per sub because thats what exile recommends for spl.............also, have you ever come across any test reports on the net for the exile xpe12/xpe12d???
Thanks...
