i dunno i like the dangling wires. sometimes its a real pain to use the small holes on the spring terminals when using 8 gauge wire, you'd have to strip alot.

not sure if this is worth arguening about.

Whats up DJ?

Yuli.... I got cheap *** connectors on my subs that cost me like 15 cents.... and accept 10awg.......

8awg is getting serious.... you need the lock down hubs for that ....

Yuli my response was not for the sake of arguement and I will leave it at that.
Everyone has the right of free expression. We also have the right to confront verbal abuse.

A little background on why we use our leadwire system can be found here

Granted everyone doesn't agree with the way we think or do things and we don't expect it. That's what free choice is about.

I DO believe that binding posts of any sort have their challenges and are for sure THE physical weak point of any high end driver. I have broken my share over the years.

I DO NOT believe there is any performance difference between a binding post and a wire - other than the obvious avoidance of physical failure.

Would the best connection not be to extend the tinsel leads themselves? One less soldered connection.

LMAO!!

I'm with Dukk on this. Regardless of whether there is noticeable performance difference, I too have broken my share of binding posts over the years. I've never had a problem with the direct connection on my DD subs.

Question for Haunz - you mention that the binding posts you use are coated in platinum. Is there a particularly good reason why (perhaps resistant to tarnishing?)? Just wondering, as silver is superior in terms of electrical (and heat) conductivity, and is less than 1/100th the price.

^ Platinum is used because it is 'chrome' looking and it doesn't tarnish. Nickle is used as well.
