I want to permanently position the remote control for my head unit in a place where I can easily operate it while driving. The problem is, the infrared transitter cannot "see" the receiver on the head unit. Can I simply extend the leads on the infrared transitter and position it somewhere where it "sees" the receiver in the head unit?

Are there any concerns here?
