Extending the Antenna Wire

hey i just bought an antenna adaptor for my 94 regal and the stock antenna + antenna adaptor wont reach my deck. i was just wondering what would be my best option for extending it so it will reach? should i cut a wire and add a random piece as an extension? or do i have to buy something? any help is good help, thanks.

Just cut, splice and add . Make sure to relink/rebraid both the copper braiding and the main pin ends well. (Re)Use a piece of plastic jacketing to cover the main pin run from the copper braiding. I did the same for my 95 Regal and have had no problems.

^ Exactly - generally a single hair thin centre wire in a hollow core with a woven shield.

I've fixed chopped antenna cables before but if one has the option - buy an extension rather than rathacking the factory cable.

That was close but, really, that appearedto be an uniformed decisision. A noob mistake if you will..

Here a low cost PROPER solution was offered and ignored. That's worth a ride on the short bus...
