With todays FSB / backplane speeds, RAM speed, SATA drives, etc, I guess thats almost laughable now, but at one time, if you even had a screensaver come on, poof, coaster time.

Still to this day I'm a paranoid ****. Even with toast & itunes I leave the computer alone to do it's business and come back after it's ejected.

Thanks for the comments. My burner burns at 4x, 8x and 16x using NERO.
I burned a cd yesterday using maxell discs at 4x and n problems playing on the 7909.
