Let's Seperate Myth From Fact....

If you can properly place your speakers (as in a home or recording studio) TA is fairly pointless. In a car it can be a useful tool, I do not consider it essential but it can address some weaknesses but it is a band-aid for poor speaker placement.
Having said that I like it when used properly, when used incorrectly it is audio hell

the key word there is necessary.
it is not.
sure it can help make the job easier and mask potential placement problems, but it is not NEEDED.
personally, I had great T/A on my last deck, I played with it time after time, it's alright if set up properly.....but I do not miss it even the slightest on my current head unit.
there are no definitives in car audio. there are multiple ways to achieve any effect, and never a proper way to set up a system. this statement is a perfect example of implying this IS the correct way...which isn't true.
