It is simple ported is louder then sealed arguement over

also everything I learned about SPL was from my previous job and working closely with other competitors not from Future Shop I stoped competing when I started here 5yrs ago.

Fusion I'm not here to argue if you think your right prove it build a sealed box for a 15'' then build a 45hz tuned ported box for a 12'' and test them with the same RMS power with a 45hz test tone and see what happens maybe I'm wrong and you can help me change my logic I want to get back in to comps and would like as much help as I can get.

I never disagreed with you're statement saying ported is louder than sealed, but you claim to gain AT LEAST 3 db, which is not true. I could build a half cube ported box tuned to 25hz and gain nothing.

very true I was just using that as an example thats why I started at 100db it was a generization thats all I know theroy is fine on paper but not in a car sorry for the confusion man.
