I love old school grill cloth! It's cooler looking that today's plain old black cloth..and you can actually see the drivers through it too, which is a plus. Anyone know if you can still buy that stuff anywhere?

He said he bought it along time ago and just hung onto it. (this guy actually kept a news artical
about pack ratts. it was dated 1985)

 

Good work [img]graemlins/thumb.gif[/img] I'm not one for the old cloth but your craftsmanship on the kicks for your 1st time appears very good. Did you use a router or jigsaw for your speaker rings and such?

 

There are only a few mistakes on the vinyl.
The one was a really odd shape and couldn`t be covered properly. it kinga wrinled in spots.

I used a band saw to make the rings
and routed them with a 1/2" roundover.

Things I would do differently.

- Think about the finish (covering) before forming the shape.

- Use THIN fleece to cover kps and build them up from the inside.

 

yeah the kicks i built with my buddy had such a weird shape the shops here could even wrap the without a seam. It was kind of a pain so now we have to get them painted but meh its all in good fun

 

Yea. I shoulda never molded in the factory trim piece.
I got lucky and found some stretchy vinyl

what type of fleece did u use, seems like you had some serious pits there mine turned out pretty flat as it was. didnt need too much sanding.

 

It was an old sweater from value village.
I looked for the thickin shi* i could.

 

lol i getcha. I usually use fleece from a fabric store works really well and its cheap especially if its ugly lol
