i agree.... but basic crafstmanship and install intergrity like making sure a fuseholder is straight is something that a rookie should be able to do in his driveway, and if he cant he should be rewarded for correcting things otherwise there is no incentive to do it properly....otherwise he will surely go to amatuer the following year and get smoked

Let it go... its getting old!
by that logic, there would be no other class than pro or ultimate...think about it.

I think I understand where Defro is coming from. But maybe with the lack of shows in your area, you havent seen many rookie cars latley. I think the install portion of the rules for rookies is good. Just enough to score a safe car.
I hope you get a few IASCA shows in your area. I think you will see how it works better then.
Anyway, Julians car is as solid as it needs to be for his class. And from what I hear it sound pretty damn good.

what if another guy in the same class does everything right and this guys still looks ok.....does the competitor that does it right not deserve better points.....otherwise whats the point of doing a better job....and if he isnt encouraged to do a better job how does he become a better competitor

In the future how about pointing out problems to my install or others in a manner that is respectable, instead of being a know it all and try to suggest rule changes that suit your concerns.
Fozzz, MTT and ICEBIRD88 know that I'm picky and the battery would of been changed before SBN but for rookie it's not worth the time and money!
Off to SBN
Why is that??
This is a Public Forum... "NewsFlash".. Its of Interest to Anyone that wants to participate!
According to the Iasca Rulebook I have, he is well within the Guidlines for Rookie Class. Do you have a "SPECIAL" Rulebook??

i didnt say that you broke them but i just would have thought some better care and attention would have been taken seeing as how your going to be competing at what is probobly the worlds biggest sq event......the rulebook is something thats critical when your building a car to compete.....interpretation of the rulebook is very simple in the rookie class and so it should be but this guy put what seems to look like a fair bit of time into his car to compete.....and i think it stands to reason that he should have been able to put a fuseholder on straight and techflex the wire correctly.......im just not too sure why he would deserve the same points as the guy hes competing against that did these thing properly.....i understand hes a rookie and wont lose points for it.......what im saying is that he should and that craftsmanship and intergrity should be judged in all classes....all ya'all are getting pissy.....you must have helped him build it or something.....im not even sure whos car this is i just looked at the pics......maybe the finished product was different and the techflex and fuseholder stuff was fixed......i dunno

Dude you seriously need to get into another hobby - read the IASCA book and look at the score sheet - It's in black and white. Your eyes must be off or something...When I go to amateur I will be making changes to the battery section but for now this is sufficient.
