Focal Component tweeters in dash?
I've narrowed my search down to getting Focal 165 V2 for my chev S-10 with door and dash speakers.
It's been about 50/50 on opinions whether to mount the Focal tweeters in the dash or not.
I think I am leaning to yes, as I've heard them in a similar truck.
Any other opinions?

Do you self a big favor and dont decide untill you have moved them all over the truck to find the possition that YOU think sounds best.
Don't worry about theory, or and other so-called "science".
The Last thing I do in any car is build the front stage speaker locations untill the car is in one peice (as in all interior is in) and the system is playing with the amps eq's ect that you will be using.
Drives me nuts when I hear people post that they are buying ABC driver and putting them in a locations they haven't even tried, before they start building, and then a week later they are on a board saying the drivers suck, and asking why they don't sound good.
Saves you alot of time and money from mistakes by trying locations before building

because freq response is not you main concern at this point(n the low end (as in mid-bass, and lower freqs are harder to focus). You don't need much.
I use a MDF speaker ring with the driver screwed to it. Then use various length of wood to hold the drivers in place while I listen. I then use alot of towels and rags to catch the back wave of the driver. just so I know I'm not listening to reflections.
Once I get the driver where I like the way they image and stage. I photo from a ton of angles, and start measuring from all over the place so I can make sure I'm building to the same locations the drivers where in when I tested.
I always do one set of drivers at a time (mids, or tweets) until each one is the best it can be. Then turn them both on. Sometime you have to make corrections (more times than not) because the image doesn't line up. (mid center image in one location, tweet another). Most of the time you will find that you won't get it perfect, but as good as it can be (for IASCA SQ guys they read that part as "time to start rebulding the dash to make it better..lol)
hope that helps
