Focal vs Macrom

Which would you choose for an sq system and why?
I am thinking of getting one of the following combos to replace my quartz.
focal k2 power 6.5 midbass with the 4 inch components set. or,
Macrom ext 4.0 with the 6.0mw.
Any input would be great. I really need some more insight into these speaker sets.

I've heard the focal on the demo board and in car. I like the way they sound. It would be nice if I could afford the utopia, to me they had more definition but less midbass.
I don't think that I will be able to hear the macrom stuff before buying it, I don't know of anyone having it around calgary.
I'm sure that either setup will be great, just looking to see what others thought.
If anyone has listened to the macrom gear please post your impressions.
Thankyou

I have only heard of Macrom on this board, and its advertisers. They look to be outstanding quality drivers as are the Focals. The Focals have a flavor though (you know when you are listening to a Focal driver)some say the Focals are hot in the HF, but that is personal choise. I would love to get some Macrom sets to play with, but finances are tight right now. Sorry I didnt really answer your question

We all know that the install will make it or break it but great gear helps. If you want to hear some Focal cars you should check out Jason Gay's new shop. He is opening his shop called Audiowaves in Oshawa this weekend. His car is one of the finest examples of staging and imaging from both seats you will ever find. There will be a variety of installs from Polyglass to Utopia.
I think one of the strong points with the Focal's is their off axis response. The Focal's have one of the flattest off axis curves I have eevr seen and this can be helpfull in a car. The crossover that comes with the new KP and K2P components has incredible flexability with up to 7db attenuation at 1 db increments for the tweeter.

^^^ you'll need that 7 db of attenuation.
The Utopia mids and bass drivers are the cream.
I'd buy the Macrom stuff on looks alone though, pretty solid stuff

well,I havn't had a chance to listen to my MW midbass or M1 comps yet ......... but them and the ext comps I looked at look very well built
I'll probably get to listen to em in about a month
you'll probably have a hard time finding comparison's for a bit as macrom is just coming back to north america, and it will probably be a bit till a dealer network is set up ......
try finding some european boards and look for macrom as they are very popular there .........
I have heard the ext line is comparable to the focal utopia line ......
