Fosgate amp reissue....

Anyone else seen this?: http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/press...oLIFE_amps.pdf
I wonder if they will have the same internals as the original ones?
"In addition to the Punch 45, models scheduled throughout the year will be the Punch 75, Punch 150 and the famous Power 1000 planned for late 2005. All Limited Edition amplifiers will be available for a short time only with drastically limited quantities."

I might not be a big RF fan, but those amps were some of the best ever made..............

Pffft, man, do you not remember the old days when people used a single Punch 40 to run an entire system?
Why do people show so much disrespect for Rockford...they are solid amps.

I am not trying to start a debate over the merits of the old-school Fosgate gear versus the new stuff..... although I have a Punch 40 bought new in '94 that is a beauty. In high school I ran four 6.5's and two 10's off of it, without any trouble......

I know a current 50 watt amp cannot do what a Punch 45 did....that amp today would be rated at something like 125 by 2.
The old amps were so under rated....
The current amps although under rated some do not make 3 or 4 times their rated power....
As far as what current amps can do, I know DB Don had a Rockford 301M that he ran at I believe 1 ohm and something crazy like 500 watts output.
It would be great if Don can verify these figures.
