Which do you prefer and why?
Which is more bang for your buck?

jl.... cuz i own 3 W7's. they hammer when u want them too and they sound damn clean when they do so as long as u dont clip them. but thats just like any sub. but theres so much impact with a W7 and its so clean. much the same with all the jl line. good subs.

not a rockford fan really. sure they have high power handling, but the JL just feels so much better when it hits.

yeah I was thinking more along the lines of JL prolly 2 10"s or 2 12"s. I dont have a lot of cash right now but I really wanna get the best possible subs I can for the cash I got. what would you recommend for me cause I like trance, metal and rap. so would JL's sound good for all those types of music? and whats better I heard 10s are better for metal cause they respond faster or something, I dunno Im new to this stuff.

im not like the all-knower. but how a sub sounds in the end depends on the box its put in. a 15 can be just as tight as a 10. my 12 is just as tight as the 8's. the 8's are just as loud as the 12. i'm a big fan of the w3 series. u could prob talk your way down to $220-240 per 10". altho if thats too much u could go with a single 12w3v3.....for around $260. u could find them online for 190USd for the 10"s. 210usd for the 12"s. if u dont wanna go the store route. im DIY so it doesnt matter where i get my stuff from. if u can DIY (do it yourself) then online saves u money.

what amp are u looking to run and how much power does it put out

looking online i just realized how much cheaper rockford is. so if price is the issue.... u can find rockford stage 2 10" subs. (250rms) for $90-100 each. Good subs. either way

I prefer JL, and would not even use Fosgate myself, but clear winner for bang for the buck is Fosgate.

I dont have an amp or anything yet either.
So what would I need to power 2 12" JL subs
like a rough estimate, can anyone suggest a good amp to do the job for that?
