fuse placement question
I'll be placing one ANL style fuse about a foot away from my battery, but what I'm wondering is if fuses are required at the other end of the power wire if my amps already have built ins? Any thoughts...
BTW, I'll be running about 1725W to 2 amps if it matters.
Thanks in advance,
Doug

it all depends on what setup you have. the fuse at the front is there to protect the car. the fuse at the back is to protect the amp. but some guys have nothing if they are doing spl(only because they don't want resistance introduced into the system). but i would definitely protect both your wire and amp. it's a good way to keep your car from turning into ashes. good luck
Check with your manufacture to get the apporpriate fuses for tha amp side, then add the the two together to get the battery fuse. I know there is a formula to find out the max current draw, but can't remember it right now.
Having multi fuse disto at the amp helps determine and isolate the problem when a fuse does blow. Rather than troubleshooting your amps to see which one is causing problems.
