Gauging interest in a group buy for an Iraggi HO alt.
#12
This is a quote off the Steve Meade forum, maybe it helps explain a bit why some of his service has been slow
i'm an hour 20 mins from DOm he is a good guy but his work load is very very high. He was for a while doing all the builds himself on top of answering the phone calls and answering emails. shipping out alts as well. his work is solid and i trust it above any other. Service usually takes a little bit but worth the wait
Anyways I emailed him last night about the chances of a group buy. His response was that he would be willing to do one, 25% off with a minimum of 15 people. I've sent him another question as well about if that discount would apply to his Lifetime warranty and a couple other questions.
*snip*
Which to me looks like a good deal, as a point of reference an similar EA amp is about $40 more in their group buy for my car.
As fo Mean green, I have heard good things about them, but I have e-mailed them 5 times over a couple months and never heard back from them. Dom replied by 10:30 mountain time the next day.

Do some searching on Termpro though... I've seen a bunch of stories of people who have either gotten something that didn't fit properly, took months to get theirs, had to send one back only to take months to get it repaired.
I mean... if you're set on it, go ahead... I'm just making sure that others know of the possible problems they may face. Like I said though... search in the Alternators section of Termpro.. don't take my word for it

Please please do chime in and let us know if it was a direct swap without problems, and how your 1.8 took the extra heavy duty alt i.e. loss of horse power, etc. I need to know, as i have 2000 2.0 Golf, and considering HO alt, but do not want to have to do mods to fasten it.

Maybe I've just got bad luck, I seem to remember trying to get ahold of team shadow before and either not being able to reach them or they weren't able to get one for my car, I don't remember.
I have tried a few other places and been told that they can't do one for my car (1994 Mazda 626LX, 2.0L 4cyl.). Knukonceptz is doing alts now as well and I think they had one available, has anyone seen any reviews on theirs?
I'm not dead set on Iraggi, although the lifetime warranty option seems like a deal. Especially when I will likely only have the car a couple years:
"In the event you purchase a new vehicle, your current Iraggi Alternator can be exchanged for a brand new model that directly fits your new vehicle. The first exchange for an equal or lesser value unit is covered free of charge. If the new unit exceeds original purchase price, the difference in value is charged."
I haven't seen a deal like that anywhere else.
