yeah... I'm really just looking for some extra bass.... not something that will make my car fall apart.. or wake up my grandma I was thinking of going with alpine type R's, thought I think they're kinda big

If you are willing to give up that much space, go with an Infinity Kappa Perfect 10" and port it. It has a high Sensitivity (SPL - 94 db) and it has very deep low-end extension.

How small are you looking?
its small enough, i was just saying that because i have the same type of car, and it does have a tiny *** trunk, and you can put that size of box in and still have lots of room left.

0.5 meters instead of 1 meter ... Theoretical 6 dB increase
2.83 volts (~2 watts @ 4 ohms) instead of 1 watt ... Theoretical 3 dB increase
In car @ 40 Hz ... Significant increase from vehicle transfer function

Anyone can claim high numbers when they cheat heavily ...

Using standard testing methods (1 watt from 1 meter away in an open environment), the Kappa Perfect 10.1 is only ~84 dB
Yoink! Where did you get that information? I simpy assumed that Infinity measured their stuff from 1m away! I wasn't convinced that they would use 2 v instead of 2.83 so that doesn't surprise me, but the .5 m is surprising!

Err, sorry, my mistake, it is 1 meter, but it's still 2.83 volts (2 watts) instead of 1 watt ... and it's still in car instead of in an open environment ... And it's still 84 dB instead of 94 dB

SPL (1W/1M) = 112 + 10*log(9.64*10^(-10)*Fs^3*Vas/Qes)
SPL (1W/1M) = 112 + 10*log(9.64*10^(-10)*28.35^3*32.13/.44)
SPL (1W/1M) = 112 + 10*log(0.0016039627)
SPL (1W/1M) = 112 + 10*(-2.794805727)
SPL (1W/1M) = 112 - 27.94805727
SPL (1W/1M) = 84.05194273 dB

Nice calculator . . . how did infinity manipulate it to be 94?

How many other company's work like that?
