Tim,

I could not agree with you more.....

Everyone from reps to distributors to installers to sales staff have done things that were not ideal for the situation.

Tarnishing a guys reputation over one incident that happened many years ago sounds more like a personal grievence more than anything.

If a guy (or gal) has a history of questionable business practices then it might be appropriate to the word about it. Someone who is that shady will most likely not be around very long anyways.

I personally would question the integrity of someone that slagged people behind their backs in front of me.....It is not a good thing to do...you have absolutely nothing to gain from it....

Ever read Steven Covey's '7 habits of highly succesfull people'?......there are also other personal growth media that shun this type of behavior.

Man, what an interesting thread. I can see all these issues from both sides.

DAVE: I believe what you are saying is that it is your duty to tell others about reps. or distributors that have burned you or others in the past. I believe the saying is "help someone, they tell a friend -- burn someone they will tell ten" -- anyone who says they have never said something bad about someone who screwed them put up your hands -- notice how everyone's hand is down?

TIM: I believe what you are saying is that if all of us were represented by our worst moments, we would all look like bozos (amen brother)

DUKK: I believe what you are saying is that you can only comment as to what you have seen/experienced and that you have not had a problem with someone that Dave has had a problem with (for the Record I consider Pez a valued and trusted personal friend). All I can say is that I have heard many comments about myself over the years and while I think I always did my best to be honest and fair, there will still be people who think ill of me. Part of being on the other side of the counter is understanding that no matter what you do or how you do it you will always displease someone and have the possibility of someone calling you out for an action you took.

Finally -- while this may be the only place dedicated to exposing "dirty laundry", image if we started a "crapy store" forum -- that would make the ventings here look like love letters.
