good single din headunits that accept USB?

Hey All,
Been out of the game for a long time now. I picked up an Alpine IDA-X100 last summer but never bothered using it, as the faceplate isn't fully detachable (only part of it detaches, and I don't see the point in that). Looking for something comparible that has 3 preamp outs, decent preamp voltage, decent quality, and has a USB port that allows me to play MP3s.

Not looking for anything fancy with touch screen, etc etc. Basically something comparible to the IDA-X100 or IDA-X305. Anything from Pioneer maybe? I have been an alpine guy for the longest time, but wouldn't mind trying another brand.

Thanks

Welcome back....

I have been a fan of the Kenwood Excelon series of decks for a while now.

This page has all the info for the current offerings, they all do USB, some have direct connections for ipods etc. and all of them meet all of your other requirements....

I like them because they last....my job lets me listen for 60 odd hours per week and my decks typically last 4 or 5 years.....

Other fans of different brands will be along shortly........these should be on your list for consideration as well.

HTH

I just did a quick search for units with rear USB (not a big fan of them on the front) and the Kenwoods came up. Also being a user of Kenwood both in my car and the gf's with no major complaints I would say to take a close look at them. I jumped on Pioneers site and even their top model single din seemed to only have front USB.

How about that one. Mechless so no CD drive to screw up. I have one new in box with warranty I'll give you a good price on.

PM me.

That looks like a nice unit, but no detachable face makes it a no-go for me.

Thanks for the input so far everyone.

Someone with another thread title is looking for an x-100. I saw you said you got one maybe for sale. I have and love mine.

Get ahold of one of JVCs top models from last year. (arsenal kd-a815 or a kd 900) for a nice sounding deck with triple 5-volt preouts. They both come with Bluetooth which may or may not interest you but u need to move up to these models to get a few nice features and nicer screen
