so about a month ago I got a box of car audio stuff, and in it was a 4 channel amp called a "grenade G-64B"...it came with the original bill for $778.00...it was purchased in 1996...I was searching the net trying to find the specs for it and came up with nothing...have any of you heard of such an amp? (made by Blade Technologies)...any info would be greatly appreciated...also, it has a "secrity pin" which did not come with it...does that make the amp useless?

thanks alot,
Cavity

Without the pin you will have to have it modded to get it to work. Not sure of what the mod is but I remember someone posting that they ran theirs without the pin. I don't really know much about them other than that. Supposedly they had a lot of power, they also seemed to be name appropriately because they liked to burn up. This is just based on what I have heard.

The Grenade amplifiers were the entry level amps that Blade offered. Blade is a canadian company which was based out of Markam ontario.

The Build quality of the SE series(high end) was terrific and bulletproof. Unfortunatly the Grenade series did what the name was EXPLODE!

Overall the grenades were good amps but nothing exceptional. The SE's were terrific. The Company is still in business to my knowledge, but the blade division no longer exsists.

Hold on a sec and I will scan the owners manual. I either need a place or person to host them or your e-mail.

I got looking around and found the old PIN I had.
If it is of use to you I can mail it out. This is the old PIN key out of my now stolen G64. There used to be about a 15foot remote cable the key could plug into. The amp itself had a 1/8" hole for the remote cable and the other end of the cable was a 1/4" recepticle for the PIN. I sold the cable back to the store and used a STEREO adapter jack.

I still have the setup.

I remembered I have some space at Yahoo photos. These are just a few of the pages, not all of them.

If I remember correct, the pin it came with is there to reset the microprocessor inside the amp.

It senses current and shuts off when something is not normal with its voltage.

anything should work as long as you connect the contacts.

Thanks for the help with this thing... I saved those images, please email the rest to [email protected]. We can talk about how to send that pin over here too. The screw i have in there now seems to work, but it would be great if i had the proper plug. My car is too easy to break into, and it might look like a real antitheft device
