remove the power fuse first. should be under hood near the battery.
after the fuse is removed, remove the trigger wire (small single wire connects close to the power and ground at the amp. cover this wire with tape. the rest dont matter after those two.. just make sure the rca's dont short to chasis ground (tape them up)..

Also a safety note, if you have a capacitor you should drain that first before disconnecting the amplifier. To do so, remove the fuse under the hood, leaving the amplifier connected and turn your radio on, the amp will discharge the cap, then disconnect everything as mentioned above.

it's not dangerous per se. but the spark can cause a bowel movement if your not expecting it.

there's a faster way to drain a cap. Just put any conductive material across the terminals of the cap and watch the fireworks! It's even better if you have some marshmellows handy.lol

sparks scare most people. never mind that 12V can't show you, the spark freaks them out.

huh! It's not the 12v from the cap that worries me it's the current! It kinda seems like your saying caps can't hurt you, that's just not true. The shock would do some serious damage not to mention what if it explodes in close quarters to you! They ARE dangerous and should be handled with care! Proper charging and discharging steps should be followed
